Sorry, Baby is a bold and sharp dark comedy-drama, written, directed and performed by Eva Victor in her feature film debut. The film, produced by among others Barry Jenkins (Moonlight), tells in an inventive way the story of a young lecturer dealing with the aftermath of a sexual assault. Film critics are calling it one of the best debut films of Sundance: a warm, bitter and often humorous reflection on trauma and recovery, delivered with restraint and without sensationalism.

Omschrijving

Something terrible has happened to Agnes, but life goes on. At least, for everyone around her. When a dear friend comes to visit just before an important milestone, Agnes is confronted with how completely her own life has ground to a halt. Slowly she begins to realise what is holding her back and takes the first tentative steps towards a new beginning.

Iets ergs is Agnes overkomen, maar het leven gaat door. Althans, voor iedereen om haar heen. Wanneer een dierbare vriendin langskomt vlak voor een belangrijke mijlpaal, wordt Agnes geconfronteerd met hoe stil haar eigen leven is komen te staan. Langzaam begint ze te beseffen wat haar tegenhoudt en zet ze de eerste voorzichtige stappen richting een nieuw begin.
